अधूरी / Adhoori / Emptiness


 दूर जब जाते हो तो 

प्यार उमड़ आता है

रूठे रहतें हैं मगर

पास जब भी होते हैं

वक़्त फिर बीत जाता

मनाते इक दूजे को

ज़िन्दगी जाती है गुज़र

कश्म-कश में यूँही


प्यार करते हैं जिन्हे

उनको ही रुलाते हैं

भला करने की चाह में

चोट पहुंचाते हैं

वक़्त फिर होता है ग़मगीन

दर्द में उनकी

ज़िन्दगी जाती है गुज़र

कश्म-कश में यूँही


कुछ कुछ आता है समझ

अंत जब आता है

दोबारा ज़िन्दगी जीना

दिल फिर चाहता है

हर पल ज़िन्दगी नयी थी

हम ये समझे नहीं

ज़िन्दगी जाती यूँ गुज़र

अधूरी सी कहीं



 Door jab jaate ho to

Pyaar umad aata hai

Roothe rehtein hain magar

Paas jab bhi hote hain

Waqt phir beet jaataa

Manaate ik dooje ko

Zindagi jaati hai guzar

Kashm-kash mein yoonhi


Pyaar karte hain jinhe

Unko hi rulaate hain

Bhalaa karne ki chaah mein

Chot pahunchaate hain

Waqt phir hota hai ghamgeen

Dard mein unki

Zindagi jaati hai guzar

Kash-kash mein yoonhi


Kuchh kuchh aataa hai samajh

Ant jab aataa hai

Dobara zindagi jeena

Dil phir chaahta hai

Har pal zindagi nayi thi

Hum ye samjhe nahi

Zindagi jaati yoon guzar

Adhoori si kahin



We pine for each other

When distance does us apart

Yet when together

We find reasons to be upset

The clock keeps on ticking

As we try and reconcile

And life passes us by

As we fret and struggle

We make them cry

Those we love most

In our desire to help

We give them more hurt

Then repent endlessly

As we suffer in their pain

But life passes us by

As we fret and struggle

We get a little wiser

As the end we approach

Then wish we could live

This life all over anew

Every moment was new

We never understood

And life passed us by

As empty we stood

The best way to experience joy is to create it.
