कहा जो दीपक से ये
है अँधेरा तेरे तले
वो मुस्कुरा कर बोला
न फिकर अपनी है मुझे
पर बता बन्दे मेरे
कैसी फितरत है तेरी
जलता हूँ तेरे लिए
फिर भी ये तानाकशी
संजो कर अँधेरे को
फैलाता हूँ रौशनी
फिर भी जाने क्यों तुम्हे
बस दिखे मेरी कमी
ढूँढ़ते हो तुम जिसे
उसको ही पा सकते तुम
उठो ऊपर अंधेरों से

Kaha jo deepak se ye
Hai andhera tere taley
Wo muskura kar bola
Na fikar apni hai mujhe
Par bataa bande mere
Kaisi fitrat hai teri
Jalta hoon tere liye
Phir bhi ye tanakashi
Sanjo kar andhere ko
Failata hoon raushni
Phir bhi jaane kyon tumhe
Bas dikhe meri kami
Dhoondte ho tum jise
Usko hi pa sakte tum
Utho upar andheron se
Raushni ki lau chuno
Light
To the lamp when I said
There is darkness beneath
Smiled wryly he said
Don’t you worry about me
But tell me ye man
How strange art thee
I burn just for you
Yet deriding you be
I gather all the darkness
And spread light around
But all you can see
Is a lacuna in me
Remember you get
What you decide to see
Just chose my light
Let darkness be
The best way to experience joy is to create it.
