Ameer Garib ya Garib Ameer / Rich Poor or Poor Rich

 Ameer Garib ya Garib Ameer

Na jaane kehte kyon garib hain sab log unhe

Nahin kitnon ko hai naseeb jo mila hai unhe

Sard raaton ko jo sote hain aasmaan taley

Kahan se laate hain garmi jo tan ko unke dhake

Raah mein khel rahe dhool mein badan lipte

Jise paane ko kai log taras jaate hain

Garib keh ke inhe dil apna behlaate hain

Baat sun kar ameer ki garib bol utha

Khoob andaaz hai tera hansi udaane ka

Badal ke dekh le apna mukaam mujhse tu

Naseeb kya hai hamein khud hi samajh jayega

Mila jo jisko hai samjho khuda ki rehmat hai

Yaad kar lena mujhe bhi magar khuda jo mile

Waar doonga main saari duniya isi rehmat par

Rich Poor or Poor Rich

Wonder why people brand them as poor

So much they have that many aspire for

In winter’s chill under the sky who sleep

How do they warm their bodies keep

Playing in the streets steeped in dust

Trained to beg before a word uttered

Whence the laughter and smile beget

For which many rich just pine and fret

How do they relish dry loaves of bread

Even as many rich can’t sweats relish

Wonder what more the rich do miss

Calling them poor it’s a ploy of the rich

The poor heard it all then finally spoke

What a way rich have of deriding us folks

Why not exchange our stations in life

Find out yourself what fate has in store

Whatever we have is of God’s grace

Curse Him not if some things work against

But do let me know if God comes your way

I’ll give up the world for that wondrous treat
